Community Guidelines

Treat other users with respect.

Do not:

• Bully, harass, intimidate, or threaten others
• Repeatedly target another user with unwanted contact
• Encourage others to harass someone
• Use degrading or abusive language directed at another person
• Deliberately humiliate or shame another person
• Make credible threats of violence or physical harm

Disagreements are allowed. Personal attacks, harassment, and threats are not.

Because Yokul is location-based, misuse of location information is taken seriously.

You may not use Yokul to:

• Stalk another person
• Track someone’s movements without permission
• Monitor another person’s routines
• Publish another person’s private location for harmful purposes
• Encourage others to locate or confront someone
• Use location information to intimidate, threaten, or endanger another person

Do not post information intended to reveal another person’s home address, workplace, school, private routine, or other sensitive location without permission.

Yokul allows content to be associated with real-world places.

Before posting, remember that other users may be able to determine where content was created or associated.

Use extra care when posting from:

• Your home
• Someone else’s home
• Schools
• Workplaces
• Medical facilities
• Shelters
• Private residences
• Other sensitive locations

Teen users should be especially careful about sharing information that reveals their school, home, daily routine, or regular locations.

Yokul has zero tolerance for the sexual exploitation or endangerment of minors.

You may not post, request, distribute, promote, or facilitate:

• Child sexual abuse material
• Sexualized images of minors
• Grooming or sexual solicitation of minors
• Exploitation of minors
• Instructions intended to facilitate abuse
• Content that sexualizes children

We may report suspected child exploitation to appropriate authorities or child-safety organizations when required or permitted by law.

Do not use Yokul to exploit, threaten, humiliate, or sexually abuse another person.

Prohibited content includes:

• Non-consensual intimate images
• Secretly recorded sexual content
• Sexual extortion
• Threats to distribute intimate material
• Sexual exploitation
• Content encouraging sexual violence

Content involving sexual activity must comply with applicable law and Yokul’s policies.

Do not post content that:

• Makes credible threats of violence
• Encourages a specific act of violence
• Celebrates serious physical harm to identifiable victims
• Coordinates violent activity
• Provides instructions intended to facilitate violent criminal acts

Documentary, newsworthy, educational, or contextual discussion of violence may be allowed when it is not intended to promote or facilitate harm.

Do not attack, threaten, dehumanize, or promote hatred against people based on protected characteristics such as:

• Race
• Ethnicity
• Nationality
• Religion
• Disability
• Sex
• Gender
• Gender identity
• Sexual orientation

Discussion of controversial subjects is allowed. Attacking people because of who they are is not.

Do not use Yokul to commit, promote, organize, or facilitate illegal activity.

Examples include:

• Fraud
• Theft
• Human trafficking
• Sexual exploitation
• Illegal drug sales
• Violent criminal activity
• Unauthorized access to computer systems
• Distribution of stolen personal information

Yokul may remove content or accounts associated with unlawful activity and may cooperate with lawful requests from authorities where required.

Do not post another person’s sensitive personal information without permission.

This may include:

• Home addresses
• Private phone numbers
• Personal email addresses
• Financial information
• Government identification numbers
• Login credentials
• Private medical information
• Sensitive location information

Publicly available business information may generally be discussed when used appropriately.

Do not impersonate another person, business, organization, or public figure in a way intended to mislead users.

Parody, fan, and commentary accounts may be allowed if they are clearly identified and are not designed to deceive others.

Only upload content you own or have permission to use.

Do not knowingly post material that infringes:

• Copyrights
• Trademarks
• Privacy rights
• Publicity rights
• Other intellectual property rights

Spots are tied to real-world locations.

Do not use Spots to:

• Harass a business, property owner, or individual
• Falsely claim ownership of a location
• Misrepresent yourself as speaking for a business
• Target private residences
• Encourage trespassing
• Encourage dangerous behavior
• Deliberately create misleading or abusive location information

A Yokul “Founder” designation does not mean the user owns, operates, represents, or controls the physical location associated with a Spot.

The ability to view or post content associated with a location does not give you permission to enter private property.

Do not trespass, interfere with businesses, enter restricted areas, or put yourself or others in danger to create content.

Always follow posted rules, local laws, and instructions from property owners or authorized personnel.

Town Square and Spot Forum discussions are intended to support local conversation.

Do not use them to:

• Spam users
• Repeatedly post irrelevant content
• Coordinate harassment
• Spread another person’s private information
• Threaten or intimidate people
• Deliberately disrupt conversations
• Flood discussions with duplicate content

Users are encouraged to contribute information, questions, observations, and conversation relevant to the community or location.

Do not:

• Send mass unsolicited messages
• Post repetitive promotional content
• Run scams
• Mislead users for financial gain
• Use fake engagement
• Operate fake accounts to manipulate conversations
• Use bots or automated systems without Yokul’s permission
• Attempt to artificially inflate popularity, activity, or rankings

Yokul works best when users contribute genuine content and experiences.

Do not deliberately fabricate events, locations, or claims in ways intended to mislead other users.

Satire, humor, storytelling, and creative content are allowed when a reasonable user would understand the context.

Do not encourage people to engage in behavior likely to cause serious injury or death.

This includes dangerous challenges, reckless stunts, trespassing into hazardous areas, or instructions intended to facilitate serious physical harm.

We may remove content that encourages, glorifies, or provides instructions for suicide or serious self-harm.

Content discussing personal experiences, recovery, support, awareness, or prevention may be allowed when presented responsibly.

If someone appears to be in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.

If you see content or behavior that violates these Guidelines, use Yokul’s reporting tools where available.

Users may also block other users.

Reports may be reviewed by Yokul and may result in:

• No action
• Content removal
• Reduced visibility
• Warnings
• Temporary restrictions
• Account suspension
• Permanent account termination

Yokul may consider several factors when reviewing potential violations, including:

• Severity
• Context
• Intent
• Risk of harm
• Whether conduct is repeated
• Prior violations
• Applicable law

Not every violation will result in the same enforcement action.

Serious conduct may result in immediate account termination.

Yokul is not an emergency service.

If you believe someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or appropriate authorities.

Do not rely on Yokul messages, posts, or reporting tools for emergency assistance.

We may update these Community Guidelines as Yokul grows and new features are introduced.

When appropriate, we may provide notice of significant changes through the Services.
